I'd always thought solo travel was a no-go for me, as I have the constitution of a Victorian child, as my sister put it. But like many a (privileged) Victorian traveler, I did get to do my own version of a Grand Tour and had a blast.

In full disclosure, I travel sporadically, and so I spend a lot of time armchair traveling through books and movies and planning hypothetical vacations for that anticipatory happiness. I've done a lot of research in the process, and I'm sharing what I'm learning here in case it helps anyone else.

As far as mental health and self-care when traveling goes, I feel like it's a topic that doesn't get as much of the limelight as it deserves, so I'll share what my experience has been like.

I'm not a healthcare professional, so this isn't going to be medical advice, but I'll share about my experiences and things I do to prepare for trips, such as checking for seats in the shade when buying outdoor event tickets. Between ADHD, anxiety, heat sensitivity and the like, I've got a lot to keep myself busy, and a lot to write about.
